Other Changes


Other changes placed in the script as well as hard-coded ones:

  • The script automatically DISABLES the following WoG options: Metamorphs, Neutral Town, Extended Upgrades, Universal Upgrades and the map rule 'upg level 7 creatures become level 8' and ENABLES stack experience. The disabling is because the mentioned scripts work in an antagonistic way to the New Upgrades script (f.e. In the neutral town the same creatures are used as different upgrades).



  • In the game you can now find two new dwellings (they replace the two sharpshooter dwellings). The one on the left is called the Forgotten Lair. If the script is active you can recruit Ancient Basilisk there and the dwelling will be guarded by 10 of them. If the script is not active you will find Efreet Rajahs in there.


  • The second Dwelling is the Hall of The Underworld. If the script is active you'll find Medusa Empresses, Blood Minotaurs and Efreet Rajahs there and the dwelling will be guarded by a double weekly growth of those 3 creatures. If the script is not active you will find just Medusa Empresses.



  • The former natural calamity also has been changed. It's now called 'Altar of Power' and if the script is active you'll find Electricity and Mineral Elementals there and the dwelling will be guarded by 12 of the first ones and 8 of the second. If the script is not active, you'll find a different monster there each day from the following: electricity elementals, mineral elementals, blood minotaurs and ancient basilisks.

  • If the script is active, then also the Emissaries' dwellings are changed. Emissaries of War and Peace are gurader by 3 forms of elementals - fire and earth respetcively. Each one has 200 elementals in total. The dwellings of Mana and Lore Emissaries are guarded by 2 forms of water and air elementals (respectively) and each one has a total of 260 of them.


  • AI - The script was also tested for AI players - they can build the new buildings and upgrade creatures. All those new actions an AI player tries to take when entering or leaving a town. Note, that the price of the new building is 75% of the price in gold for human players and the AI doesn't have to have the exact number of all other resources, though when builidng the new structure, the script will take away as much meeded resources from the AI as possible (up to the full price).


  • Multiplayer - The tests in multiplayer mode ran also OK, so the script should also work correctly in network games. Although some problems have occured (when a player that was hosting the game was attacked, he didn't saw the battlefield - no battle occured), my guess is that it's a WoG error, not a 'New Upgrades' error. However the author is not certain about that so you may want to take this fact into consideration before installing the patch.


  • Script updates - The scripts: 'metamorphs', 'neutral town', 'enhanced creatures', 'extended upgrades' and 'rebalanced creatures' have been slightly modified to make them fully compatible with the 'New Upgrades' features (no new elements added).


  • Graphx fixes - Two small errors in displaying graphics have been fixed - the fire elemental map sprites and the sacred phoenix dwelling sprites.


  • Documentation - The file 'new_upgrades.txt' describing all 'New Upgrades' changes is inside the .rar archvive with the main patch and after installing it - also in you main Heroes3 folder.
